Stringing Beads is one writer’s journal, a place to record thoughts and experiences on life’s journey. Although my attention has faltered, I am, and always will be, a writer. My primary passions are historical romance and science fiction. I have some completed novels, unpublished, outdated, and in sore need of editing. Some unfinished ones, too. Don’t all writers?

When I attended RWA’s National Conference in New York City in June 2011, I grew intrigued with the advantages of Indie-publishing. In 2011 it was still a bit taboo but I loved the idea of having control. To better understand it, that summer and early fall I walked myself through e-publishing two small collections of posts and essays.  Stringing Beads – Musings of a Romance Writer was followed by Stringing Beads – A Young Mother’s Musings. Interesting process, one nearly anyone with an eye for detail can handle.  I started to follow-up with one of my more promising novels but fate intervened.

In late 2011, a personal tragedy struck. I struggled to survive. After a time, I retired from my day job, bought an old new home cross-country, remodeled it, and worked to sell the former one. Downsizing, moving closer to my roots. More years passed as I battled health issues. I’m now climbing back to my reality and my passion, the world of words and stories. I’m again reading regularly. And writing. Resurrection!
